FAQs
What is the difference between an inverter charger and an inverter?
The Inverter acts as a DC to AC converter that allows you to power your household appliances. The Inverter charger not only acts as a DC to AC converter that allows you to power your household appliances but also charge and maintain a battery bank when connected to shore power.
Can I use the inverter with a 24V system?
No. This model can only be used with a 12V battery system.
What is a battery temperature sensor?
The charger needs to select the charging mode according to the battery voltage. The Temperature Sensor can compensate for temperature so that the charger recognizes the voltage more accurately and assures stable and constant charging to the battery, Prolong battery lifespan.
Note: The DC-DC Temperature Sensor cannot be used with Lithium batteries.
What size inverter should I buy?
Choose the right power output for your needs. For example if you have a 500W fridge and a 800W air conditioner, you will need a wattage output of more than 1300W such as a 2000W or 3000W inverter.
Check your battery voltage. The DC voltage rating on the inverter will tell you what battery bank it is compatible with. For example, a 12V battery bank will require an inverter that is compatible with 12V DC input.
Size your installation spaces. What area or space will you set your inverter? Make sure the inverter will fit in the space you have in mind with enough room around it for proper ventilation and no fire hazards.
Remote operation is important. Renogy pure sine inverters come with convenient remote control and DC HOME APP options so that you can operate the unit from afar.
Do I need Modified Sine Wave or Pure Sine Wave?
Modified sine wave inverters are older technology and generally less expensive. They can be used for many standard appliances but may cause trouble with delicate electronics or audio equipment. Some equipment may work but run hotter than normal.
Pure sine wave inverters are a bigger investment, but much more versatile.
- Output voltage waveform is a pure sine wave with very low harmonic distortion and clean power like utility-supplied electricity.
- Inductive loads like microwave ovens and motors run faster, quieter, and cooler.
- Reduces audible and electrical noise in fans, fluorescent lights, audio amplifiers, TV, Game consoles, and more.
- Prevents crashes in computers and glitches in monitors.
Can I use a Renogy or other Bluetooth Module to monitor this inverter charger?
No. This inverter charger is not compatible with a Bluetooth Module at this time.

Questions & Answers

Can this used as an extra alternator to power subwoofers
Hi, this Inverter Charger could work depending on the wattage of your subwoofers and how many you have. This has a continuous AC output of 3000W (with a peak power of 9000W) so as long as the total wattage you are trying to draw from it is below 3000, it should work great. It looks like subwoofers can vary greatly in their output, so it will be important to do the math. For example, 3 subwoofers at 900W each should work. This Inverter Charger at 3000W is meant for heavy-duty appliances, so it is a matter of how many and now large the subwoofers are. Thank you for your question!
